100 days of student protests in Quebec have sparked a solidarity movement here in B.C.
A rally is planned for the Vancouver Art Gallery Tuesday afternoon.
Student organizer Gregory Williams says the rally will start at 4:00pm.
He’s expecting several hundred people to show up.
“We’re having people from campuses all over Vancouver. We’ve got people from SFU, Emily Carr, UBC…”
Williams says that will be followed by a small march – adding B.C. can draw several parallels with what’s happening back east.
“One of the things that’s really impressive about the Quebec movement is the way that it’s brought together these student, labour and environmental concerns… and I think that’s a dialogue that you’re starting to see happen here as well.”
