Random stabbing in downtown Vancouver

A 30-year old woman has serious injuries after a random stabbing in downtown Vancouver.

Shortly before 5:30 this morning the woman was attacked while inside the 7-Eleven at Denman and Comox.

She was knifed several times and is now listed in stable condition in hospital.

Vancouver police say the 39-year old suspect was wrestled to the ground by witnesses and was held until officers arrived.

He is known to police.

He has not been charged yet.

The motive for the attack is not clear, but police say the two did not know eachother.
