RCMP looking for Toyota with front end damage after elderly man injured in hit and run

A hit and run in Surrey has left a man in his 70’s in hospital with serious injuries, but he is expected to recover.

It happened just before 7 Friday night on 132nd street and Huntley Avenue.

RCMP Sergeant Bob Pinkewyczs says the man was hit so hard, he was thrown several feet and knocked right out of his shoes.

“Indications are he had been jay walking and was struck by a light colored Toyota.”

Pinkewyczs says the Toyota has at least one broken headlight and was heading southbound on 132nd Street.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or sees a car with similar damage is asked to contact police.
