RCMP say high-profile B.C. gangster murdered in Mexico

A high-profile gangster from the Lower Mainland has been murdered in Mexico.

Mounties with organized crime operations say 50-year-old Thomas Gisby was killed last night in Nuevo Vallarta, near Puerto Vallarta, inside a Starbucks.

They learned about it early this morning.

They say they have few other details, such as whether anyone has been taken into custody, anyone else was hurt, or how Gisby was killed.

Mounties say they have been aware of the man for 20 years now, as he has ties to several notorious B.C. gangs.

They are asking for a heightened awareness of possible retaliation.
