Repeat offender faces two more sentencings

The repeat offender convicted of mortally wounding a young man outside a Port Coquitlam house party in 2006 is going back to prison.

A Judge in Prince Albert is slated to sentence 23-year old Ryan Crossley for an assault he committed while already behind bars.

Gord Penner, the father of the 20-year old stabbed seven years ago is relieved the man  considered a high risk to re-offend is still locked up, “At least he’s behind bars and everyone’s safe for now and we don’t need somebody like that on the street that needs serious mental health care.”

Crossley was already out on bail for committing another crime when Penner’s son Jesse was killed.

In April, Crossley will be sentenced on another charge of assaulting prison staff.
