Restaurant drowned in flames

A 3 alarm fire has all but levelled the Tandoori King Restuarant in southeast Vancouver.

Captain Gabe Roder said the fire in the 8000-block Fraser Street, started just before 6 pm Wednesday.

Firefighters gave up fighting the blaze when heat and flames drove them back to a defensive position.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
