A decision could be made by the end of the month on whether a proposed pipeline project in Richmond will go ahead. But the City of Richmond is hoping two Provincial Ministers will hear from it first.
Mayor Malcolm Brodie says he still has concerns, particularly around fire safety.
An Environmental Assessment has been completed and sent to two BC Ministers, “If they were prepared to accept the project, we would expect that there would be a list of conditions. But the conditions that we have talked about, the life safety ones, and fire and all that, that’s not part of it. We don’t expect that that would be part of it at this time.”
The City wants to meet with Terry Lake and Rich Coleman.
A consortium of airlines is hoping tankers will take fuel up the South Arm of the Fraser River.
The fuel would be stored, and sent to the airport through a pipeline.
