A Richmond woman convicted of murdering the woman she suspected of having an affair with her husband is not giving up her fight to stay out of prison.
Jean Ann James is seeking approval for an appeal with Canada’s highest court.
In January, the BC Court of Appeal upheld the now-72-year-old’s first-degree murder conviction in the 1992 murder of Gladys Wakabayashi at her Vancouver home.
James was arrested in 2007, after confessing to using a box cutter to slit her victim’s throat.
Her lawyers failed to prove the trial judge made errors instructing the jury, as well as admitting evidence of a partial shoe print at the murder scene.
No details have been released for why James is seeking another review by the Supreme Court of Canada.
