Ride to raise awareness for motorcycle safety

Don’t be surprised if you’re driving on the Sea to Sky highway tomorrow and driving with you, are a whole bunch of motorcyclists.

It’s all about promoting motorcycle safety awareness month–a ride from New Westminster to Squamish.

Organizer Michael Hwang says about 50 showed up last year.

“I think we need to take more preventive steps and improve traffic laws and improve awareness for all the road users to be aware that there are motorcyclists out there.”

This year is the third annual motorcycle awareness brunch ride.

It comes a few days after the B.C. government announced new safety restrictions for motorcyclists.

The event starts with breakfast in front of the Heritage Grill restaurant on Columbia Street in New Westminster at 10:00 a.m.
