Right-to-die plaintiff Taylor taking it “one day at a time”

She says she was overcome with emotion.

Right-to-die plaintiff Gloria Taylor is speaking to reporters today, after a BC Supreme Court ruling in favour of doctor-assisted suicide.

Taylor, who suffers from A-L-S, Lou Gherig’s disease, appeared frail and emotional, as she thanked her family, friends and legal team.

And ultimately the question was asked: with Friday’s ruling, what does the immediate future hold for her?

“I live one day at a time, and I’m not there yet. I’m still here for living, I hope for a long time.”

Taylor calls the ruling a momentous time in Canadian history, adding she’s hopeful the controversial ruling is not appealed to the Supreme Court of Canada.
