It is official, the now closed 800-block Robson Street will be re-opened to car and bus traffic Saturday.
City Councillor Andrea Reimer says after hearing from thousands of people they voted to re-open the route.
However Reimer says, Robson Street could be closed again in the future, possibly for good, “So we asked staff to continue to look at the issue. Are there ways that we could mitigate the impact on transit users? We know there are businesses that had issues. Are there ways to mitigate those impacts? That report will come back to us in July of 2013.”
Reimer says a number of people have told Council the city needs a permanent public square.
