Scuba diver missing near Vancouver

WEST VANCOUVER, B.C. – Police and fellow divers are continuing the search for a man who didn’t surfaced during a scuba dive near Vancouver.

West Vancouver police say two experience divers were in the water off Whytecliff Park in West Vancouver on Saturday, but one of them didn’t surface at the end of the dive.

The diver who made it out of the water called for help, prompting a coast guard vessel and a police marine unit to head to the scene.

The search continued until almost 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, and then resumed Sunday morning.

The missing diver’s name hasn’t been released, but police say he’s in his 60s and is from the Lower Mainland.
