Taxpayers spent some 2.3 million dollars shuttling their MLA’s around in the first nine months of the fiscal year.
So says an updated travel expense report on the legislative assembly website.
The highest biller was New Democrat MLA Robin Austin, who rang up 75-thousand dollars in travel.
Austin represents the distant Skeena riding.
Many of the highest bills are from MLA’s in large and distant rural areas.
NDP leader Adrian Dix billed for 51-thousand dollars in travel, while Premier Christy Clark’s bill comes in at only 35-hundred dollars.
Much of the Premier’s travel is paid for through her office, which shows that as of November, Clark had spent 57-thousand on travel.
