The BC Civil Liberties Association wants to make sure young people know their rights when they deal with police. So, their “Arrest Handbook” is now available as a smartphone app.
It tells you the three reasons a police officer would stop you on the street, what to do if you’re arrested, what, ‘the right to remain silent’ means, and more.
Law student Lief Jensen helped design the app, “The average police officer is able to get a lot of information from people that they might not want to give, just because people don’t know their rights.”
It’s available for Apple and Android phones.
