Special on/off ramps may use extra gasoline?

HOV commuters who use the 152nd Street on and off ramp will not get special discount rates for using the new Port Mann Bridge.

Port Mann Highway One project spokesperson Max Logan says the problem is the on and off ramps at 152nd Street pass under the camera gantry.

Logan says to get the discount, you must be in the HOV lane when you go under the gantry, “You do have to be in the HOV lane and have one of our HOV decals on your windshield. That is the only technology that exists at the moment, for us to be able to automatically apply an HOV discount.”

Logan says those who car pool will have to use the brand new 156th Street on and off ramps to get the 25-percent peak period discount.
