The Vancouver Board of Trade says while not all the details are in yet, it’s not opposed to the demolition of the city’s viaducts.
Board of Trade CEO Iain Black says there are however, a number of concerns, “The Vancouver Board of Trade was presented with fairly preliminary materials and we do assume a comprehensive plan will be completed and canvassed for feedback before any irrevocable decision is made concerning the demolition of the viaducts. But we nonetheless offered conditional and conceptional support on that basis.”
Black says the primary concern is the movement of goods and people.
The City of Vancouver moved a step closer Tuesday to tearing down the viaducts unveiling a plan to replace the roadways with a ‘super road’ and more housing.
