A 48-year-old Surrey man is believed to be the one involved in a tense stand-off with Kamloops police last night for nearly seven hours.
The suspect was the estranged boyfriend of a 44-year-old woman in the house with her current boyfriend and four children, two boys aged 11 and nine, as well as two girls aged 13 and eight.
All the occupants are safe, but the suspect died after two explosions rocked the house and it was destroyed by fire .
No names have been released.
