Surrey Memorial Hospital update

The Emergency Room at Surrey Memorial Hospital remains closed after yesterday’s flooding incident.

Cleanup crews and water damage specialists continue to try get the E-R back into working shape.

You can hear the roar of heavy-duty fans as they try and dry the E-R out.

Beside the entrance there’s a huge pile of black garbabe bags filled with flood-damaged material.

Ambulances are staged outside the hospital along 96th Avenue to help in case someone with an emergency medical condition shows up.

Yesterday a broken water main caused flooding after a torrent of water punched through a wall in the hospital.
