Surrey murder victim survived earlier attack

Homicide investigators say the man found dead in a Surrey ditch yesterday morning was Jaskaran Singh Sandhu from the Lower Mainland.

Police say the 26 year old was known to them and his death was a targetted attack – possibly gang related – but they haven’t confirmed the motive.

Officers are still at the scene in the 12300 block of Colebrook Road.

Sandhu survived a shooting in late September of 2011, when he was wounded by gunfire at the Mr. Lube outlet in the 27 hundred block of Barnett Highway.

The gunman in the attack got away.
