Teachers have begun demonstrations outside public schools.
Some are carrying signs, others are handing out leaflets.
Their union, the B.C. Teachers Federation, insists it is not a picket line and no administrator, unionized support staff, child, or parent will be prevented from entering or leaving any school.
Meanwhile, debate continues today in the B.C. Legislature over Bill 22, the legislation that will ban such strikes.
However, because the NDP is opposing passage of the bill, it is not expected to become law until late this week or early next week.
