They’ve been at the bargaining table for more than 70 sessions now, and still no progress.
That from the head of the BC Teachers’ Federation, who says last week’s modified proposal by the union, has failed in sparking any progress at the table.
Susan Lambert says in her opinion, so far, only one side has been willing to bargain, “But we had hoped with our package that we presented to Government last week, that that would spur them to matching our spirit of compromise, and to at least put a proposal, a counter-proposal on the table, so far that hasn’t happened.”
In their new proposal, teachers are proposing a 15-percent wage increase over three years.
The Government meantime, has persistently kept to their net-zero wage stance.
