Terrace Mountie escapes jail time

A Terrace Mountie will spend no time in jail after punching a drunk woman almost two years ago.
Constable Robert Hull pleaded guilty to assault last spring.
A woman had been arrested outside a local nightclub back in October 2010 and was taken back to the police station.
Police say Hull had been trying to calm her down in a cell block when she kicked him in the groin, so he punched her in the face.
He was given a conditional discharge, meaning no time behind bars and one year probation.
He has already been disciplined for breaching the RCMP Act.
