Terrace RCMP hunt for missing explosives

Terrace RCMP are on the lookout for two boxes of high powered explosives which fell off a freight truck on West Kalum service road near the city.

RCMP Constable Lesley Smith explains the risks.

“These explosives also known as Power Pro are extremely dangerous if not used in the proper manner, and stored properly or handled properly. So again with any motoring public if they do come across these clearly labelled boxes that say ‘explosives,’ it’s also got a white label that says on it Power Pro, we ask that they call the RCMP so we can handle it appropriately.”

The explosives are designed for use by mining companies and can be set off with minor friction or impact.
