The leader of the BC Conservative party says when it comes to Bill 22, he thinks there are some politics at play.
John Cummins says the government should be sitting today and through the weekend and get the bill passed to address the teachers dispute.
Cummins said “The government has a majority it is true..it is clear the bill will pass but I think the government is holding back I think that they want the teachers to go on strike I think they are hoping that if they doi there will be a public reaction against the strike and that they will gain some support.”
He says the Liberal majority government hasn’t been shy about using closure in the past and could have used it to pass Bill 22 yesterday.
Cummins adds he also thinks there are some problems with bill 22 despite his urging the Liberal government to pass it.
