The leader of the BC Green party says both Clark & Cummins will try to block an effort to unite the right.

The leader of the BC Green Party is throwing more wood on the fire when it comes to merging the BC Liberals and BC Conservatives.

Jane Sterk says momentum might build to unite the right, despite the feelings of the two party leaders.

She said “I do think that we are going to see more impetus particularily from the busines backers of the BC Liberals to find someway to bring those two parties on the right together. I don’t think that they are going to be successful as long as John Cummins and Christy Clark are leaders of those two parties. Maybe the influencers in the parties and the financial backers of the parties can make something happen.”

Sterk says her party still, maybe, plans to run BC Green candidates in Port Moody Coquitlam and Chilliwack Hope in the next provincial election.

She said “I am actually hoping that we will have candidates in both those ridings again it is not certain until we have our full slate in place.”

Sterk says despite sitting out the by-elections she doesn’t feel her party has lost any support.
