The Premier talks about the budget

The Premier danced around questions over her government’s balooning advertising budget today after speaking to a business crowd in Coquitlam.

When asked, Christy Clark wouldn’t address the running total for the advertising budget which is approaching $ 64-million over two years.

“I guess which specific instances? I mean I think it’s important that we advertise to make sure that people are careful in forest fire season and I think it’s useful to encourage people to lower their sodium intake.  You know why? Because when people’s sodium intake is lower, it means our health care costs are lower.”

On millions spent promoting her jobs plan, Clark says driving consumer confidence is vital for the economy.

In her speech for the Tri-City Chamber of Commerce, Clark also said tomorrow’s fiscal update won’t be pretty.

Clark sais her government needs to make tough choices and health care cuts are off the table.
