The company that sponsored the event where freestyle skier Sarah Burke sustained her fatal injuries is finally responding to the incident.

The day after Burke’s death and many hours after being shredded in social media, Monster Energy on their website say they are deeply saddened by Burke’s death

The company also says they have offered Burke’s family financial support but aren’t saying how much.

The company was criticized online after they offered a no comment when asked if they would help pay Burke’s medical bills.

An website has collected, in donations, virtually all of the $ 200,000 medical bill for care in a Utah hospital.
