A third person has been arrested and charged in connection to a fatal shooting of a Surrey man in what police described as a targeted home invasion last month.
Fabian Lyde, 18, of Richmond was arrested Friday and has been charged with second-degree murder and weapons-related offences. He is scheduled to make an appearance in Surrey Court Monday.
Kacey Rogers, 31, was shot and killed in his home in the 14000-block of Grosvenor Road on Feb. 26 just after 10 p.m.
Rogers is not known to police and is believed to have been a victim of a targeted attack.
Russell Bidesi, 21, of Surrey and Joshua Martinez, 19, of New Westminster were arrested and charged with second-degree murder, robbery and firearms-related charged on Feb. 28. Both have been remanded in custody.
“The fact that three men have been arrested, charged and remain in custody, in only a matter of weeks, speaks to the dedication of all police jurisdictions involved,” said RCMP Sgt. Jennifer Pound, of the integrated homicide investigation team, in a statement.
“When it comes to the selfish act of taking a life, police officers from everywhere feel a need to bring the killers to justice.”
