Transit south of the Fraser badly treated

The Mayor of Delta is none too happy with the service levels Translink provides her community or any area south of the Fraser.

Lois Jackson says there needs to be a realistic look at sharing the load when it comes to paying for Translink services.

Jackson says solutions could include Delta going it alone for transit or perhaps a new South of Fraser Transit Authority, “I think we are fairly poorly served. There just isn’t anymore money for anything else for us. Anything that would come south of the river obviously has to go to a heavier populated area like Surrey and it is very difficult for us to squeeze anything out of Translink, if you would.”

She says it may be time to take the Translink funding issue to some kind of public consultation.
