Translink boss answers a few questions

After ducking media for days, Translink C-E-O Ian Jarvis held a controlled, video conference to address reporters this morning.

Jarvis says Translink is reviewing recommendations made by Commissioner Martin Crilly last week.

“……..and we’ll fully support a provincial audit. We will implement those suggestions that will make us more effective…in fact, we’ve already taken action on the commissioner’s recommendations.”

While the Evergreen Line is going ahead,Jarvis notes certain service expansions are at risk of not proceeding.

“……of those transit service hours, the majority of them were going into our growing areas south of Fraser, so until we have an understanding of our ability to pay and insurity of revenue on those, certainly there will be impacts.”

Jarvis also admits that staff morale at the transit authority has taken a hit, in light of intense media scrutiny.
