Trial starts Monday for man accused of hitting a road construction flagger

The trial of a man charged in connection with the 2010 death of a flagger will be underway Monday.

Thor Shay is facing a charge of driving without due care and attention.

Flagger and father of two, Don Cain was working on Lougheed Highway in Mission on July 15th, 2010 when he was hit and dragged.

“Well, we’re going to go and support Deborah Cain, Don’s sister.  She’s asked the BC flagging association to be there.  She feels the charge of undue care and attention isn’t enough,” says Diane Herback, Director of the BC Flagging Association.

Herback says they’re going to have as many flaggers in the Abbotsford courtroom as possible.
