Tug flips on Fraser River

No one was seriously hurt when a tug boat flipped over near the Pattullo Bridge in the Fraser River this morning.

The coast guard was alerted at 9:00 a.m. about two men falling in the water.

The captain and a man on the barge are both fine, but the captain is getting checked out at hospital.

The rescue was carried out by the coast guard hovercraft and the cormorant helicopter with assistance from a pollution control plane working nearby.

The cause of the boat flip is now under investigation.
