Two dead in Vernon plane crash

Two people are dead after a small plane crash on a school field in Vernon.
RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says the plane took off from the Vernon airport around 1:30.

“It appears what happens is the aircraft turned, made contact with the ground, rolled and then burst into flames. The plane has pretty well been destroyed by fire. It is, of course, an emergency scene.”

The Transportation Safety Board is en-route to Vernon.
Molendyk says neither the make and model of the aircraft, nor the identities of those onboard have been determined.
