Two Tsawassen First Nation members appeal September election

The former Public Relations adviser for the Tsawwassen First Nation says September’s election result could be overturned following an appeal launched by two members.

Alex Rose, a family friend and biographer of former Chief Kim Baird, explains what could happen with the appeal made by Kim’s brother, Mike Baird and Nation Member Christina Schellar.

“It is theoretically possible, if this appeal is successful, and the council rules that there was a voting irregularity, the council may well call for another election.”

Baird and Schellar claim there was an incorrect date included on one of the election notices.

Rose says the judicial council could come to a decision by Wednesday.
