Update: details on former school employee who made threats in Nanaimo

Nanaimo RCMP are releasing more information about a former school employee who made some threats.

Constable Gary O’Brien says mounties are simply being prudent and no one is in any danger.

But he says the person, who they won’t identify, did make threats in the past and has already served his time.

“During that investigation several of our members were actually threatened by this person he was therefor taken into custody, he was acting quite erratically. During the course of his incarceration he decided to plead guilty. He has since served his time he did that outside the community. He has returned to Nanaimo on February fifth. He is on probation he is on very strict conditions.”

He says RCMP are keeping an eye on the man and the school district is also upping its security.
