UPDATED: Police standoff in Mission over

A man who barricaded himself inside a house in Mission this morning is now in police custody.

Inspector Davy Lee says the man believed to be in his mid-20s turned himself in.

“This was the advice provided to him by our negotiators.  The house has now been cleared by our emergency response team.   Certainly the individual took action early this morning to depart the house.”

Emergency crews were called to the 334-hundred block of 2nd Avenue shortly before seven this morning to deal with reports of a sexual assault.

It’s not known exactly when the suspect – who already has a criminal record – left the house.
