UPDATES: Threat leads to school lockdown

Vancouver Police are trying to track down a suspect after a threat locked down a local elementary school.

Sgt. Randy Fincham says police got a call shortly after 10 o’clock, reporting comments about Thunderbird Elementary that lead police to believe the safety of someone in relation to the school was in danger.

The school was put into lockdown.

“We remained here for the rest of the day, until three o’ clock when the students were released to the safety of guardians or caregivers”

He says they’ll reassess the threat this evening and into tomorrow to determine if the threat has disappeared.
