UPDATES: VPD confirm hand and foot sent to local schools

Vancouver Police have confirmed suspicious packages delivered to two Vancouver schools today  contained human remains.

The schools involved are False Creek Elementary and St. George’s, a private school for boys.

VPD Deputy Chief Warren Lemcke says the BC Coroner’s Service is also investigating.

“The first package, containing what appears to be a human hand, was opened by staff at False Creek Elementary school after one pm today. Another package containing what appeared to be a human foot was found by staff at St. Georges school later this afternoon and there is no indication of an identity at this stage of the investigation.”

Lemcke says police in Montreal have been contacted about a possible link to the missing body parts of a Chinese student murdered in that city last month.

Jun Lin’s torso was found, but one of his hands, a foot and his head are still missing.

his accused killer luka magnotta could be extradited from Germany in a few days.
