Vancounver Councilor defending city’s consultation process after protest

A Vision Vancouver Councilor says the city undertakes a lot of consultation efforts.  This after a protest outside city hall, with demonstrators claiming they aren’t consulted enough about development proposals.

Andrea Reimer says as a public official, she hears from a lot of citizens on top of consultation efforts.

“One of the big concerns I hear about is the need for more affordable housing, especially for seniors and young families in this city. Affordability is something that we campaigned on in both of the last two elections.”

Demonstrators at the protest said they are not against density or development, but want to be part of the process, but they’ve been shut out .
