Vancouver and Winnipeg mayors make Grey Cup wager

Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson has agreed to stand at Winnipeg’s major intersection wearing a Bombers jersey if the B.C. Lions fail to win the Canadian Football League’s coveted prize Sunday in Vancouver.

Robertson and Winnipeg Mayor Sam Katz made a friendly wager in advance of the 99th Grey Cup match between the Leos and the Blue Bombers. The bet also requires the losing mayor to declare the winning team as No. 1.

“I know Winnipeggers will be happy to give Mayor Robertson a very warm welcome as they pass him on Portage and Main sporting a Bomber jersey,” Katz said in a statement.

The wager also includes a $ 360 donation to youth sports, as well as a basket of fine locally made products.
