VANCOUVER – A 27-year-old man is accused of human trafficking and sex charges after Vancouver police busted a prostitution operation involving girls as young as 14.
Reza Moazami is facing 18 counts, including human trafficking, sexual exploitation, sexual interference and living on the avails of a juvenile.
Sgt. Rick Akin says the offences are alleged to have occurred between February 2009 and this month and involved four girls below the age of 18 years, some who were just 14.
He says the victims were threatened with violence and forced to work as prostitutes.
Akin says there may be other victims and he’s urging anyone with information to come forward.
