Vancouver protestors call for inquiry into robocall scandal

Hundreds took to the streets of Downtown Vancouver Saturday afternoon, venting their anger over the federal robocalls scandal and calling for a public inquiry.

Among the crowd marching through the streets, city councillor Adriane Carr.

“When you have tactics that suppress that right to vote, and in fact illegally suppress it by misdirecting people to impersonation of Elections Canada — you have the most serious situation I’ve ever seen in this country.”

The crowd then made its way to Victory Square, where speakers from the world of politics and labour all repeated their call for an inquiry.

“This issue of the robocalls and possible election fraud is about the integrity of our election process.”
