The grass isn’t getting cut; the trash is piling up.
So says one Vancouver councillor and he wants to know why.
The NPA’s George Affleck says he’s not the only one noticing the mess – he’s getting emails and calls from residents and tourists alike expressing concern that the ‘basics’ aern’t getting done.
He says the city should be taking care of the ‘basics’ first and he says it’s disappointing to hear the trash is piling up and the grass is going unmowed.
Affleck says most of the complaints are coming from the Yaletown, Olympic Village and Robson Street areas.
Park Board Commissioner Aaron Jasper says there has been reduced mowing in some areas like the fringe of parks.
He admits there could be more garbage bins especially along Robson.
