The Victoria police department is providing some new information on Angus David Mitchell.
Mitchell was the suspect in a double murder in Burnaby.
He was shot and killed by police after he was tracked down in Maple Ridge.
Police say they dealt with Mitchell this past February on a mental health act call.
At that time they seized a gun from Mitchell.
He later made an application to have the gun returned.
No connections have been made linking the February gun seizure and the current investigations.
