VPD bust major property theft ring

Four people are facing charges after Vancouver Police busted a major property theft ring.

More than $ 100-thousand worth of construction equipment and tools have been recovered by an investigation lasting only six weeks.

Two search warrants were executed at residences in Richmond and Burnaby.

Detective Constable Phil Ens of the Auto Crime Enforcement Unit says they’ve already identified 20 victims, but they’re still looking for one man who had at least $ 10-thousand worth of property stolen.

“We have a lot of Fred’s stuff and we’d really like to get Fred his things back. He became sort of a good buddy of ours because we kept finding him everywhere, so, Fred, if you’re out there, get a hold of us please.”

The names of the suspects, including the Burnaby man believed to be the ring-leader, are expected to be released next week.

Anyone who recognizes missing property should contact the ACE unit at 604-717-2842 or 604-717-3231.

You must provide a detailed list of any identifiable markings including serial numbers.
