VPD waste no time issuing another public warning about a notorious prolific offender

Vancouver police have wasted no time issuing a public warning about a chronic offender who’s been released from custody, yet again.

Tracy Lloyd Caza’s record dates back to 1977 with the 51-year old being convicted of at least 100 crimes.

He’s now been sentenced to time served for assault and drug charges laid in December.

Constable Lindsey Houghton says this is Caza’s third caution in the past year.

He said “The previous two public warnings, he re-offended and was put back into custody. It is our duty to warn the public, so that they keep themselves safe. He has repeatedly shown contempt for the justice system and for society.”

Saying Caza has repeatedly ‘shown contempt for the justice system,’ Houghton says VPD were quick to issue another public warning.

He said “Mr. Caza just happens to be one of the most prolific, well-recognized offenders in the city of Vancouver and every officer knows him by sight. We will continue to target him and put him back in jail if we find evidence of crimes that he’s allegedly committing.”

Houghton adds he’s not aware of any other criminal having more contact with the VPD.
