VSB looking down the road to formulate plans

With the potential for BC’s teachers to walk-off the job early next week, the Vancouver School Board is already weighing its options.

Board Chair Patti Bacchus says schools would be open for students with simply nowhere else to go but she’s urging parents to prepare for the chance of having to find other arrangements, “The biggest challenge is going to be for parents in a situation like this. We know it’s very difficult for many parents to arrange childcare. There’s, of course, the added costs and they have the other days of the year they need to arrange. So it’s going to be short notice either way. As a School District we will do our best to prepare.”

Senior management will meet with school administrators Wednesday, and information will be relayed to parents in the coming days.
