A former prostitute, who says she escaped from serial killer Robert Pickton, is set to testify at the Missing Women Inquiry.
The woman, who will use the fake name Anderson when she takes the stand, survived a bloody knife fight in March of 1997 at Pickton’s home.
Commissioner Wally Oppal is examining why an attempted murder charge was stayed the following year. Investigators have already told the Inquiry prosecutors didn’t believe she was a reliable witness. It was also suggested the case would have been stronger if the former drug addict had died.
At least 12 more women disappeared before Pickton was arrested again in 2002.
He was later convicted of murdering six.
