White substance found on bus in Coquitlam, passengers fall sick

The hazardous materials team is on scene at the Coquitlam centre bus loop after some passengers reported feeling sick on a bus.

Translink’s Drew Snider says riders on the 97 B-line reported feeling ill, so they got off the bus.

“Then, the bus driver continued his route and got to Lougheed, turned around, got to Coquitlam station and he started feeling ill. He had what appears to be a minor seizure and is still being examined. But then they discovered a white substance in the back of the bus.”

It’s unclear what that substance is.

Some passengers are being decontaminated.

It doesn’t appear anyone is seriously ill, but information is still coming in.
