Coroner identifies man who died after police standoff

The BC Coroners Service has identified the man shot dead by police at a standoff at the Starlight Casino. He was 48-year-old Mehrdad Bayrami of Richmond. The standoff lasted five hours and backed up traffic during the morning commute back on November 8th. It ended when police shot the man in the abdomen. The coroner has identified a person whose foot bones washed ashore in Sasamat Lake in Port Moody last November as a man missing after a boating accident two and a half decades ago.
